Интересная нуар история про Лондон 19 века. Смесь тайны, красоты и бедности, таксидермии и неприкрытой и жестокой реальности позапрошлого века.
Автор создает идеальную атмосферу эпохи в книге, мрачный туманный город, где бок о бок живут сливки общества и те, к которых не хватает денег даже на челюсть вставную чтобы поесть. Реализм иногда вызывает ужас, но без лишних приукрашиваний, все по делу и по сюжету.
