В этой книге у Хоссейни удивительно сильно проработаны герои, даже второстепенные, и они в разы увеличивают степень эмоционального воздействия происходящих в книге событий. Главный герой не идеален, иногда второстепенные персонажи кажутся даже более приятными, но без Амира книга бы такой не была. История распадается на несколько небольших частей, каждая из которых затрагивает отдельную тему. В этой истории не много положительных событий, конец тоже печальный, но для этой истории такой конец как нельзя лучше подходит.
