"По эту сторону рая" - первая новелла Фицджеральда, благодаря которой он стал коммерчески успешным писателем. В том, что это не лучшая его новелла, сходятся мнения критиков, публики и, пожалуй, самого автора. Тем не менее, я считаю, что этот набор полуавтобиографических очерков из юности американца в "Век джаза" хорошо передает атмосферу эпохи и помогает понять особенности жизни и творчества автора.
